I cut my portions, focused on moving my body more and lost 80 pounds in 2021! Since then, fitness has become my passion! I knew I needed to dial in my eating and makeįitness a priority for my health.
I have been working out since college, but I gained a lot of weight after theĭeath of my parents in 2019. I started as a member in March 2021 and began working here in October 2021. I currently live in Ankeny and have 2 amazing kids and 2 rabbits I enjoy being active outdoors (paddle boarding, kayaking, and hiking are my favorite!) I’m originally from Nebraska but have lived in Iowa since 2003. I love encouraging others and building relationships while seeing them transform their bodies and mindsets! They inspire me as they push to try harder to reach my own goals, have fun and laugh! I love the science behind fitness, nutrition and what makes our bodies work. I’ve had my own weight challenges as an adult either being overweight or needing to change I loved inspiring and sharing information about fitness and nutrition related to running. After having my 2nd child, I needed to lose weight and I started running, then eventually started a running club. In high school running and lifting helped me have a healthier mindset around body-image. I decided to franchise in AugustĢ018 because I wanted to share Elite Edge and the massive impact it had on me with another community of people.
I started at Elite Edge in Ankeny early 2015. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in corporate recreation and previously. The key to losing weight or getting into shape is “consistency!” I love working with clients and helping them learn. I know my experience helps me understand the challenges of gaining and losing weight. I dialed in my nutrition and realized the importance of working out 5-6 days a week. After college I knew that I needed to lose some weight. and played offensive guard and offensive tackle at Northeast Missouri
From that day forward I had a passion for fitness that continued to grow! I loved being in the weight room getting stronger! In high school I found a love for football! After high school I worked hard to get to 285 lbs. I found a passion for fitness in seventh grade when my friends invited me to workout at his dad’s gym.I’ve been a trainer at Elite since 2020.

Nutrition, weightlifting and biomechanics are huge passions of mine but in my free time I also enjoy hiking and even playing video games occasionally.Knowing I’ve helped improve someone’s life is such a reward. I absolutely love helping someone reach a goal they had trouble visioning or getting to. I have a degree in life sciences and exercise science, I am also ACE groupįitness certified and am going to get my personal training and nutritionĬertification through them as well.
What do you do here and Elite and why do you love it? From that day on I had a passion to help others move better and live healthier lives! I have also played baseball most of my life, I was fortunate enough to be able to play at Northwestern and then transferred to Iowa State after injuries ended my career early.
My passion for fitness began at a very early age my mom was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. When did fitness become an interest for you? I started as a coach with Elite in 2022!. You can also alternate easy days with hard days to vary the effort you put into exercising. Then add a session of biking to your schedule or switch to swimming for a week. For example, instead of doing the same 2-mile walk every day, try one or two minutes of jogging mixed into your walk time on some days until you can run the whole 2 miles. To avoid this issue, vary your chosen exercises, as well as the pace, distance, and intensity of your workouts. If you always complete the same workout in the same way, you may reach a crunch fitness plateau in two months or less. For the best results, include a variety of aerobic exercises in your routine, and change it up from time to time. There are many types of aerobic exercise to choose from, including walking, jogging, biking, swimming, aerobics, dancing, skipping, and more. It includes any type of endurance activity that increases your heart rate for a prolonged period of time, causes you to breathe faster, maximizes the oxygen level in your blood, and uses your large muscle groups.
When you think about working out, aerobic or cardiovascular exercise may be what first comes to mind.
